    Photos

Photos or videos of the accident scene  are essential to create the whole picture of the accident circumstances.  Over time, important details are often forgotten. Disputes can arise and of course, the documented support of your version of events makes it complete and does not give the opportunity for the guilty party to distort the facts.

    Therefore – TAKE PHOTOS!

    Witnesses

On the road, at work, on the streets, there is always someone who has witnessed the incident and is ready to confirm the circumstances. Don’t wait for witness to approach you to offer their help. It’s in your best interest to find out who of those around has witnessed the incident and ask for their contact details.

Therefore – DON’T BE SHY, FIND WITNESSES!

    Reporting the incident

    Reporting the incident

In the workplace make sure that complete information about the accident is recorded in the Accident Report Book. You can find a similar Book at the administration of a store, gym and other places open to visitors. In the event of a car accident, do not enter into negotiations with the guilty party, and most importantly, do not sign any document – call the police.

Filling out the forms takes some time and may distract you from planned activities – PUT OTHER THINGS ASIDE AND REPORT THE INCIDENT!

    Seeing a doctor

It is essential to understand that the incident itself, for example a car accident, does not automatically give you the opportunity to receive compensation. You are eligible for compensation only if you are injured. Do not try to assess your health on your own – seek medical advice.

Even with minor pain and discomfort – SEE A DOCTOR

  • hide icon show icon

The basis for receiving compensation is the injury and the financial losses that accompany it, in cases where the incident has occurred through no fault of yours. Most often, it is about road traffic accidents wherein any road user can be injured, both the driver of a vehicle and his/her passengers, as well as pedestrians and cyclists. Besides that, as a basis for a claim can serve an injury in a public place and at work, as well as an injury resulting from unlawful actions by third parties or from medical negligence. It is important to remember that the time limit for filing a claim for compensation is limited to 3 years from the date of the incident.

If you are in doubt about whether you can count on compensation or you have questions – call at 01212 868686 and “it happens” staff will advise you in detail and recommend any further steps.

A conclusion about the amount of compensation can be made only after the report of an independent medical expert about your state of health and the time required for full recovery. In addition, financial losses incurred in connection with the incident are also taken into account. If you want to get a general idea of the possible amount of compensation, contact the specialists of “it happens” in any way convenient for you.
